Apartment Setup & Utilities
Before moving in to your new place, check your lease and speak with your landlord to determine which utilities you are responsible for setting up. Make sure to start this process at least two weeks in advance of when you plan to move in.
PECO - Electricity
Getting set up with electricity is typically a quick and easy process. You can sign up for an energy plan here. If moving within PECO's territory, you can stop service at your current address and start at your new address.
PGW - Gas
Some apartments and appliances may solely run on electricity, in which case you will not need to set up natural gas. Check your lease and ask your landlord if you have any questions. You can sign up for a plan and manage your account here.
Philadelphia Water
An account for water will need to be set up if it’s not already included in your rent. Philadelphia water will let you know when your service and meter tracking begins, and when you can expect your first bill. Set up water services here.
